Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA) has been established by the Government of Punjab with the mandate to formalize the Halal sector i.e., Halal certifications, Halal business projection, capacity building and compliance regime of Halal food safety standards together with branding Pakistan as “Halal Hub” before the World and opening new vistas for entering the Global Halal market while serving the domestic consumers.

PHDA is the only Public Sector Halal Certification Body accredited by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), PHDA is approved as Foreign Halal Certification Body (FHCB) by JAKIM, Malaysia, PHDA is approved by Halal Accreditation Council (HAC) Sri Lanka and has been accredited with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK as approved training partner. Since its inception the Agency has always played an important forefront role in shaping the Halal market in Pakistan. PHDA under the supervision of Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA) acts as a regulatory Government agency to ensure conformity and uniformity of Halal standards & certifications through monitoring mechanism.
